Monsters At War

Monsters at War is Unofficially released.

If you listen to the Podcast (which you should) we have physical copies of the game that are ready to do out to the public. They unfortunately are not in the store as of yet, we are working on that, just need to wait a little to get that all up and running, but it will happen soon. If you would like a copy, simply email us franticnerdcast@gmail.com and you can get yourself a copy of our first game.

The print and play version of the game is also complete and ready to rock. Again we are just waiting on a couple of thing to be done to get our store up and running. If you would like a copy of the print and play just hit us up on our email or socials.

Rift Chaos

Now Rift Chaos, Again with holidays and family time not much has happened on this front. But it is our main game that we are currently working on. So I thought in this piece I would give you a little more information on what the gam actually is.

Rift Chaos is a Skirmish Miniature game set in the Weird World of Monsters.

In Rift Chaos player each will bring 5 monster miniatures and 5 pieces of unique terrain to the game. The game is played on an area of 12″x24″. At the begning of the game players will alternate placing their terrain, deplying 6 Rift Crystals and then 3 of their 5 Monsters. Each round players will alternate activating a monster, attempting to collect the crystals around the play area and also trying to eject their oponents monsters from the rift. If a players monster is ever ejected they will then deploy one of the 2 benched monsters. At the start of each round, new crystals are spawned, play then proceeds for 5 rounds, the player who has collected the most crystals wins the game.

Each monster you bring gives you a certain amount of Action points. At the start of each round you gain a pool of action points equal to the total of all your monsters. During a monsters activation, they may spend as many of these action points as they like. But, for each time you perform an action after the first, it costs an additional action point. So for example, move. The first time you move it will cost 1AP, if you wish to move again it will cost 2AP, then 3 etc. A monster may never activate 2 times in a row as well.

The Monsters

The game is planned to be a fully 3D printable game. Now for those of you who do not have resin printers, We are if enough intrest is out there once the game comes out considering doing some Print on Demand style printings or somthing along those lines.

So what have we got done so far? Well, the monsters miniatures are actually at a good spot, Aj has sculpted the 10 monsters that we are planning on using as the “Season 1” set of monsters.

Above you can see a couple of image of some test prints that have been painted. From left to right is Moon Boy, Donut Bugs, Carnivorous Carrots and a Carrot Knight. The Carnivorous Carrots are one the terrain pieces that will be coming out in the first set of terrin, it is a Carrot themed set. Aj has also begun working on anouther set of terrain, which will be based around military style pieces. The below image is the first of the sculpts he has been working on.

Unfortunatley Aj’s printer is currently out of action, but Test prints will be happening soon for this one and we will make sure to share our results.

The above image is of one of the first play session of this version of the game. As we have mentioned on the podcast before, the original version of this game was actually using a hex grid and had portals you could jump around the board with. it was similar but different and personally this version is a lot more fun.

Ok well thats it for this devlog. We will keep you upto date when we have more information on our other games.
